Kudos Kuya Chad Stamatelaky! Wholly led by the Holy Spirit, accompanied by 'Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)' by Chris Tomlin, he magnificently and aesthetically caricatured the image of Jesus Christ in less than 10 minutes! This captivating caricature that he drew free-handed during Grace Church Shah Alam, Malaysia Christmas Dinner, 2011, was auctioned for RM5000.

Wow! And just when you thought he's RM5000 richer, perhaps you need to know him better...*wink wink

Both Chad and his wife Mellany are involved in Children Ministry, feeding 800 street children every day and it isn't easy without enough rations and financial support but hey! Our God is forever Great people! These couple are utterly talented and passionate about arts! Be it painting, Nail Art, Henna Tattoo, Make-Up, Hair-styling, giving art lesson, you name it; Chad even owns an art gallery (Stamatelaky Art Gallery) in Manila, Philippines; and ALL the proceeds go to the ministry. Not only to support the Children Ministry, these are also to reach out and to ardently share Christ to everyone that crossed their lives' paths!

Behold, the man of God, Chad Stamatelaky, from Manila, all for the glory of Our Lord Jesus Christ! His artworks are his expression of worship.

Standing ovation everyone coz this is Awesome-ness!

All in all:

the people are nice and soft spoken,
they respect the tourists..

their foods are superb!

it's a safe city (free form snatch theft)..
Best time to visit is
November to January coz it's winter
and Tonle Sap Lake is definitely not on low tide that time

30 and still single? Worry no more!

Bummer!

For some ladies, being single at 30s ‘Bummer’ might be the right word to describe their feelings. Or perhaps the frog illustration above describes them best!

Me?

Far from ‘Bummer’. I am celebrating life at 30!

Well, personally I got few tips for all you 'BUMMER' single ladies:

1. Get up from your bed of despair and get a hobby! Challenge yourself to do something you don’t see yourself doing!

Like baking, jungle trekking, dancing, swimming, photography or even knitting! Etc…

Hey, if you enjoyed waking up at 11 in the morning,
try to spin things around and wake up at 5!

It feels great…believe me. Been there done that. God knows how I loved sleeping in and now I wake up as early as 4.30 in the morning!

Not to mention, I’ve started baking and really looking forward to involving myself with new hobbies.

2. Freedom! Yes, smell it, embrace it, feel it and enjoy it!

This is the ULTIMATE BONUS we get to enjoy being single. No calling up your significant other and go

“Honey, can I hang out with my friends tonight? I kind of miss them since we’ve been spending time together for weeks. I thought it would be great if I drop by and say hello to them today”

Depending on how your ‘honey’ take it as this could cause damage in your relationship.

Let alone if you’re married.

And yes, Singleness gives you the freedom to flirt…heheheh *chuckles

3. Get a makeover.

Yes, look in the mirror. Are you still in the same hairstyle?

If yes, then get over it already! Treat yourself a worthy makeover. Spend your money on a super good hairstylist and try out new hairstyle.

Get rid of all your boring 20s dresses etc. and makeover your wardrobe.

4. Travel, travel, travel.

Money can never be an issue to stop you from traveling.

First you plan.

Second, get cheap air tickets.

Third, you start saving for that trip.

Fourth, change money the moment the currency is low. Be smart. Oh! Make sure you have a passport. If you do, make sure it’s renewed.

Go travel. Find travel mates. Start small. Start with neighboring countries.

Once you do it you’ll never want to stop.
I'm going to Cambodia in 11 days...yeay!

Fellow Malaysians, please clear up your PTPTN before you plan on traveling.

I’ll share to you how to deal with PTPTN in my next post…*wink wink

5. Friends.

Make sure you have one or more.

Life without friends is just meaningless.

God gives us the ability to socialize so use it. Keep in touch with friends.

Hurt no one. Be good all the time. Then you’ll be the happiest single lady alive.

Most of my friends stopped hanging out with me the moment they jumped into a relationship.

I cannot guarantee myself being the opposite when I am in a relationship.

So, as a single, I take the step to keep in touch with my married / in-a-relationship friends.

6. Random act of kindness.

At 30, it is a shame if you have never done something good to others.

When you go to work tomorrow, hunt for people-in-need.

Help them. Simple random acts of kindness will kick-off your dull days and make you smile all the time.

Church goers, involve yourselves in you church’s mission trips.
Can't wait for our India Mission Trip this September...

7. Count your blessings.

Talking about mission trips, set a time to sit back and ponder back your life.

What have you achieved so far?

This might be the beginning of counting all your achievements.

What have you done in life?

How far have you been when academic comes to concern?

How far have you traveled?

How many good friends you have?

It is undeniable that somehow you will feel you need a significant other.

But before you have one, try to achieve as much as possible because you might not

be able to do so once you’re married.

You need to make sure that all the times in your life have been spent well.

8. Be crazy!

While driving. While sweeping the floor. While doing the laundry. While shopping.

While ironing……

DO something crazy! Something out of your comfort zone

(not against the law of life, religion and nature of course)

You might want to turn the music loud and head bang while sweeping the floor?

Up to how you define crazy.

My definition of crazy is James Durbin.

9. ~~Say NO to pressure.~~

Never ever let your one-by-one-getting-married-friends press you down.

You might end up being squashed.
Never let question like "When is your turn?" drives you insane.
Never ever let problems bound you.
Problems are made for living people.
None can escape problems.
Deal with it and get over it already.

10. ~~Food glorious Food!~~

You might want to cut down on calories intake at this age.

Start eating healthy to enjoy longer life.

If you have been having Nasi Lemak as breakfast for the past 20 years

(assuming you started having Nasi Lemak for breakfast at 10),

You need to STOP Nasi Lemak-ing NOW!

Imagine:

20 years x 365 Days = 7300 days.

7300 days x 389.5 calories = 2,843,350 CALORIES!

Craziness!

11. Always stay connected to your God.

Regardless of who/what you believe in, always remember that God is the source of life.

Under no circumstances, always talk to Him.

Just say anything you want to say to Him.

Make it daily basis.

Above all, give thanks all the time.

If you never bothered to do so, this is the time for change.

Whether you’re single, married, divorced or widowed, always remember that LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL.

It'll turn ugly if you failed to move on and leave all your *past fears, traumas, and self-limiting beliefs.

These are no fiction. These are based on real life experience.

I received personal messages asking to pray for the election.

I believe almost everyone prayed and I believe those prayers were heard by Abba Father.

Are you sure what you want is what God wants for Sarawak?If you believed when you prayed, then the result is the answer to your prayers.

Always remember, God grants our needs not what we want.

By now, everyone should know that I'm an English Language teacher.

Concluded the lesson ...

Bell rang....

Teacher : Thank You class

Students : Thank You Teacher

One of the students (a boy) came to the teacher

Student : Cikgu esok cikgu free tak masa rehat?

Translation: Teacher are you free tomorrow during recess?

Teacher : I’m not sure yet. Why?

Student : Saya langsung tak fahamlah cerita ‘The Pearl’ nie teacher. Satu pun tak faham.

Translation: I don’t understand this ‘The Pearl’ story teacher. Not a single thing.

Teacher : Not even a single thing?

Student : Ya

Translation: Yes

Teacher : Why didn’t you tell me when we were doing the lesson few weeks ago?

I did ask whether you understand or not, didn’t I?

I did ask those who have problems to come and see me personally, didn’t I?

You should have told me then.
Exam is next week and you only tell me that

You don’t understand the story now?!

Why?

Student : Sebab cikgu ajar dalam Bahasa Inggeris sebab tu lah saya tak faham

Translation: I can’t understand because you taught in English

Of course I teach in English coz it's English Language class....

Air Asia: The Curse of the Tune Hotel

Labours Day holiday was officially a getaway for me.
I had a ‘Jalan-Jalan Cari Makan Trip’ to Penang with my family.
3 days 2 Nights.
1st night stayed in Butterworth and in Penang for the 2nd night.
The highlight of this trip was of course as I’ve mentioned
....Food Glorious Food!!!!!!!!!!!1

Remember my entry condemning Air Asia last year?

Well, consider this as the SEQUEL of that entry...

We’ve heard how ‘EVERYBODY CAN FLY’ using Air Asia.
We’ve heard how they can deceive their customers by luring us with this tag line
‘FLY TO __________ FOR FREE’ and we could end up paying more than RM100++.
We’ve heard how we should buy our tickets few months prior to the trip date
so that we can get ‘super cheap’ ticket.

Later, we’ve heard that they have hotels and they proudly name them ‘TUNE HOTELS’

However...little that we know that the hotels’ booking system is exactly the same as the flights’.
First come first serve basis.
The earlier you book, the cheaper price you’ll get.
And in the website.....Muaxs! Marvelous!
The rooms look superb! Superb! Superb!
Unfortunately, we didn't book early enough that we had to pay quite an amount of money for our rooms....

Yes, we reserved 5 Air Asia’s Tune Hotel rooms.

Okay...are you ready for this?:

1. Upon arrival we were told that only one car could park at the parking lot
(what? We reserved 5 rooms and only one car could go in?)
2. The lobby is pathetic
3. Went to our rooms and found out that:

a. they have air-cond
b. they have hair dryer
c. a queen sized bed (not friendly to those who are 5’8)
d. they have ceiling fans
e. no towels
f. no shampoo
g. no shower gel
h. half transparent bathroom door
i. there’s Wifi
j. there are advertisements all over the room including the toilet
k. no wardrobe only a railing and 2 hangers and...just see the pics and you’ll know

4. With a little disappointment, I turned on the air-cond and.....it wasn’t working!
5. I tried the hair dryer and it wasn’t working as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Still deciphering

All my life I have always enjoyed holiday.
A teacher have always been envied by her non-teacher friends.
Why?
Because she has more than 100 days holi-DAYS a year.
Tell me about it.
I am a teacher.
So I know.

It's school holiday now.
1 week.
For the first time in my whole life....
I am not excited at all!

Everybody went back to their hometown.
I am left all alone here.
I have lots to do.
Well, that's not a good reason for not going back.

I'm tired.
I do miss my friends and family in KL.
I do miss them.
Only God knows how I miss them.

I've done a lot of thinking this few days.
And somehow I'm stuck when it comes to 'HOME'.
I have had one entry about home a few years ago in my old blog.
The same old question still haunts me.
Where is my home?

I have been missing the feeling of home since dad passed.
Then it became worst when my family moved to another state.
There goes my hometown.

How in the world can I call a place that I've never known my 'HOME'?
Yes, I do visit my mom and sisters but there is no home anywhere for me.
The only thing left in my hometown is my Dad's grave and all the memories I had with daddy.

Some say, 'Home is where you are understood'
Some even say 'Home is where your heart is'
Small kids will definitely say 'I want to go home..I want mummy and daddy'
Mummy and Daddy are their home
I know where I am understood, where my heart is, where my mummy and where my daddy is...
But the problem is....none of that places makes me feel home.
Not even the place where I am sitting now!

The irony is, up to now, whenever I dream of my family,
I always dream of us in our old house back in Labuan.
The house that we rented back in 1988 - 1996.

I guess I'm not the only one having such dreams.
Probably because those were the happiest days of our lives.

Sometimes, I'm blaming dad for 'leaving' us too soon.

Somehow, when I thought of all the orphans who never had moms and dads,
I do envy them coz they'll never get to miss having the feeling of being home coz they never had one.

On the other hand, I'm thankful I had one.

Like a Rockstar

It's been a while since I last posted something that can be digested by you.
Been busy lately.
Nothing much happened for the past few months.
Except for me being 3 tones darker......*blegh
There goes my whitening products....
Blaming it on the sports day last week....
Same day they announced SPM result.
But who cares....we won the whole sport.
Our team won!
BLUE TEAM WON!
We are the champion!
Who's the teacher?
I say....who's the teacher?
As long as I am the teacher...I will make sure that my team embraces victory forever and ever..and ever...

Okay,
Will you ever believe me if I said I can run?
Had it not been for the desperation due to lack of female teachers in our team,
I wouldn't know I could run that fast.
It was unbelievable!
This proves it....

Silver medal I tell you!

Physically stressed and exhausted right now.
But my soul still rocks like a rockstar.....huhu!
